On November 1, 2024 the Pennsylvania Drought Task Force announced that 33 counties, including Chester County, are under a Drought Watch, and two counties are under a Drought Warning. Over the past 30 days (10/1/2024 – 10/31/2024), there has been either no rain or only 0.01 inches recorded at seven U. S. Geological Survey rain gauges throughout Chester County. The lack of rain has resulted in declining ground water levels, stream flows and reservoir levels.
While not required, residents and businesses are encouraged to voluntarily conserve water by reducing nonessential water use. For more information visit:
