Community Day at Warwick County Park

Warwick County Park will host Community Day in partnership with South Coventry, Warwick and East Nantmeal Townships on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 10:00AM to 2:00PM. Come learn about activities and services you may not realize exist “in your own backyard”. Designed as a fun-filled, interactive and educational day, learn, play and explore with over 40 craft vendors, local artists, entertainers, educators, non-profit organizations and school groups. Scheduled events and activities include pony rides, archery demonstration, rock wall, animals, music, kids area, wagon rides and more!

Here to Help Job Fair

Senator John Rafferty will be hosting the Here to Help Job Fair on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Sunnybrook Ballroom. The Here to Help Job Fair is an opportunity for job seekers to connect with businesses and organizations within the region who are looking for qualified employees. Admission is free. Additional information regarding Human Services Agencies and Veteran’s Services will also be available.

TS Elliott Walking Trail Final Public Meeting

The final public participation meeting regarding the TS Elliott Trail Stewardship Plan will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 7:00PM at the South Coventry Township Building. At this meeting, representatives will review and discuss the recommendations developed from the comments received during the fall public meeting.

The TS Elliott Trail is located on an eight acre parcel of land at the corner of Ridge Road and Stauffer Road. The Township is working to create a Stewardship Plan for the site which will include a trail system integrated with natural vegetation. Your participation will help to craft a plan that reflects the interests and needs of our community. If you plan to attend, please RSVP by contacting the Township Office at (610) 469-0444.

Comprehensive Plan Update

The Comprehensive Plan Task Force will be making their final recommendation regarding the update to the South Coventry Township Comprehensive Plan on August 15, 2016 at 7:30PM at the South Coventry Township Office. After the required comment period, the Board of Supervisors will be considering adoption of the Comprehensive Plan on October 3, 2016 at 7:30PM. Both meetings are open to the public and will have periods for public comment.

The Comprehensive Plan Draft can be reviewed online or a paper copy can be reviewed at the Township Office during normal business hours.

Phone Scam – PA State Police Alert

The PA State Police and several municipal police departments have seen an increase in the number of reported scams involving individuals fictitiously representing themselves as members of Federal agencies.  Residents are reminded that no branch of the Federal Government would lawfully contact you and request sensitive information over the phone, including your date of birth, full address or social security number. Under no circumstances would a lawful member of the Federal Government order you to pay a fine or back tax via a reusable gift card or electronic transaction.

If you receive a phone call or other form of communication of this nature, please note the date, time, the means of communication that was used and immediately contact the PA State Police at (610) 486-6280.

2016 Chester County Town Tours and Village Walks

Chester County has announced the schedule for the 2016 Town Tours and Village Walks. Town Tours and Village Walks is a series of free summer strolls through historic neighborhoods, hamlets, villages and sites. Tours will be held weekly on Thursday evenings from June 9 through August 25. This year’s series will celebrate 300 years of the iron and steel industry in Pennsylvania by highlighting many of the historic villages, iron master mansions and industrial sites that shaped our region.

South Coventry Township will be hosting a historic walk through the village of Coventryville on June 16, 2016 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm as part of the Town Tours and Village Walks.  Volunteers are still needed to assist with this event!  If you are interested in being a historian, tour guide or helping with registration, please contact the Township Office at (610) 469-0444.

Comprehensive Plan Meeting – Public Review Draft Available

The Public Review Draft of the South Coventry Township Comprehensive Plan Update is now available for review. A paper copy is also available for review at the Township Office during normal business hours.

A public meeting will be held on May 16, 2016 at 7:30PM at the South Coventry Township Building.  Residents and property owners are invited to attend this public meeting to ask questions and provide comments regarding the draft document.  If you plan to attend, please RSVP to the Township Office at (610) 469-0444.
